Bujnie in Commercial Spaces: A Realisation for Costa Coffee

Bujnie w przestrzeniach komercyjnych: Realizacja dla Costa Coffee

In modern public interior designs – in cafes, restaurants, hotels, or modern offices – greenery has ceased to be merely a decorative accessory. It has become a fully-fledged architectural element that creates ambiance, improves guests' well-being, and defines the functionality of space. However, a key challenge for architects remains: how to display greenery in an aesthetic, durable, and safe way for a commercial environment? At Bujnie, we address this challenge by providing systems and plant stands designed specifically for demanding projects.

An excellent example of such an implementation is our long-standing collaboration with the Costa Coffee chain. Bujnie products create a green atmosphere in their venues across Poland – you can find us in cafes in Sopot, Gdynia, Wrocław, Kraków, Płock, Poznań, and, of course, Warsaw. It was in this latest Warsaw project that greenery was planned on multiple levels, combining the suspended LOOPO Air system and freestanding RODD plant stands.

LOOPO Air and RODD: Intelligent Space Management

The main premise in this interior was to introduce abundant greenery while facilitating the daily use of the premises. This goal was achieved by precisely matching products to specific zones:

LOOPO Air suspended system: The choice of this solution allowed for elevating the greenery and creating spectacular, hanging cascades. This freed up usable space below, leaving more room for customers. The structure was used in two different geometric arrangements. Above the longitudinal sofas, soft, elongated capsules (bean shapes) were provided, which optically lower the ceiling and create an intimate relaxation zone. In turn, above smaller, round tables, geometric circles were designed, which were easily combined from two of our standard arched modules with a diameter of 80 cm.

RODD 700 and RODD 900 freestanding planters: In areas where greenery at the base was essential to complete the composition, freestanding models from the RODD series were used. These planters guarantee full stability, which is crucial in public spaces. Their minimalist form and openwork construction give the whole an extraordinary lightness, without overwhelming the interior, and the appropriate height allows the plants to be perfectly elevated to the eye level of seated guests.

15%
increase in productivity
Biophilic design is a measurable investment. Research indicates that integrating nature into space leads to a 15% increase in creativity and well-being, directly impacting the financial results of global organizations.

Why Bujnie systems are ideal for commercial interiors?

When designing our products, we always think of them as tools in the hands of architects. Each collection solves a specific spatial problem. The aforementioned LOOPO Air system allows for creating individual arrangements tailored to the ceiling layout, maximizing floor space. Its freestanding counterpart, LOOPO Floor / Stand, is perfect as mobile, green islands combined with functional shelves that allow for flexible zoning (e.g., in restaurants or open-plan offices). The offer is complemented by planters such as the RODD series – combining the highest quality of finish, resistance to intensive use, and timeless design that fits into any modern aesthetic.

Our portfolio gives designers a much wider scope for creation. In hospitality or workspace sectors, other Bujnie models also work perfectly. The dynamic, geometric form of TOTEM planters, the light and modern HULA series, or the modular M:OD system are ready answers to the question of how to display plants in technically challenging interiors in an unconventional way.

Design for special tasks in high-traffic areas

It is worth mentioning that the described project for Costa Coffee was carried out in an exceptionally demanding location – the newly renovated Warsaw West Station. In a place with such a huge flow of traffic, where thousands of passengers with large luggage pass through daily, logistics and durability of equipment are constantly tested. The thoughtful arrangement of greenery on the ceiling using LOOPO Air and the reliance on stable, steel RODD planters proved that a properly designed product can effectively combine business function with the biophilic comfort of travelers.
